What is Untap?
Untap is a semi-annual MTG Cube event series managed and attended by members of the Toronto MTG Cubers Discord! We are a passionate group of Magic: The Gathering™ players who play what? Cube!
The autumn event will be hosted on Saturday, August 22nd to Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 at 401 Games and will feature 13 different Cubes provided by the community. It’s a 2 day event with the first day having 2 rounds of draft with a 1-hour lunch break in-between (approx. 10AM-6PM). Day 2 will be a top 8 from the top cut after Day 1 at 401’s game room. Along with some casual drafts and free play down the road at Kung Fu Tea @ Yonge and Wellesley.

The space is just south of the College St. Subway Station and is near a ton of food options for before, during and after the event.
Event Structure
Players will be organized into pods for each draft slot using the Cube tournament software Hedron Network. All judging and further organization will be handled by our floor Judge with help from the other TO(s).
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be bought through the 401 Games website for $25 CAD. Purchasing a ticket will also RSVP you for the event; if you wish to cancel at any time, please do so as early as possible to open the slot up for another person. Tickets are available now!
What’s Included?
A purchase of 1 ticket to Untap gets you the following:
- Entry to at minimum 2 Cube drafts.
- A chance at both a 3-0 pin and a prize for each top 8 player.
Prizes
While there are prizes on offer, this event is for fun, and the prizes reflect that!
- Each 3-0 of a draft will get you a pin with custom art from a mystery community member (Art is below).
- Store credit based on attendance.
Parking
The venue is in the downtown core, so it is recommended, if you’re able, to take public transit (TTC). Street parking is also an option, but it is not always available. There are also a few parking garages in the area. If you run into any issues trying to park, please reach out to Gray at untapcube@gmail.com.

Degen Vintage
This is as powerful as a Vintage Cube can get. Playtest card, Conspiracies and even Hero cards are included to make an alrady powerful environment even more wacky.
Cascade Cube
A rules modified Cube where all players start with a Maelstrom Nexus and have to find unique ways to abuse it. Free spells, Evoke and Suspend Oh My!
Theros Remastered
Explore a plane of Heroes, Myths and Monsters in this Theros themed Cube! Full of all the iconic mechanics you remember from the Greek inspired plane.
Pink Sleeves
Enjoy classic Magic games with iconic cards and minimal barrier to entry. There’s efficient interaction, plentiful fixing, and inviting build arounds.
A Cube
This sure is one of the Cubes of all time! It includes at least one card from each standardized expansion and core set from Mirage onward (along with a few other restrictions).
Dom’s Astrolabe
Powerful and splashy Magic designed and curated by Toronto’s own Dom Harvey. Not quite a powered Cube but certainly no shortage of cool and interesting interactions.
10oz
This is a Peasant Cube designed to play like a retail draft environment. Counter-play is readily available with playable disruption, tricks, and sideboard solutions.
The Artificer’s Cube
A highly synergistic Cube that revolves around artifacts and what they do with other cards. A brewer’s paradise where you are an Artificier.
“”tempo”” cube
Fast paced environment with cheap threats and a high level of interaction to match. This is a high powered environment with many ways to out tempo your opponents!
Rose-Coloured
This cube is an homage to Standard in the post-premodern but pre-nonsense era. Everything is printed between Lorwyn and Ravnica Allegiance.
9ED Standard
Double up on some nostalgic classics in this homage to Standard in days gone by. This Cube trys to get as a close as it can to a Standard constructed environment.
Universes Within
Showcasing only cards found within the MTG Multiverse! You will find many of Vintage Cube’s classically supported archetypes, without the degenerate combos and speed.
